Not quite so, as any Greek backpacker knows, you are at the mercy of the ferry schedules. There are no direct boats to Patmos from Paros, so one must board two separate ferries. Matching some schedules to connect the destinations proved to be a particularly difficult task. We ended up pushing our reservation at the lovely Petra hotel back a day to make our boats. We had to go well out of our way on an overnight boat to the island of Rhodes to make a connecting boat. After arriving about an hour late, we had to rush to make our next one on the far side of the port, but sadly we missed our boat by minutes and were still a day away from another Patmos bound boat. So we made the most of it and booked a cheap hotel and explored the Old Rhodes town. A beautiful fortress and palace with treasures on display. Later on, a delicious dinner.
FInally, we made it to Patmos, a gorgeous little island that quietly boasts an unspoiled Greek charm with hotels catering to the jet set and in the know backpackers alike.
The hotel was fabulous to say the least and when you hear Stu say the word fabulous, you better believe it. From being greeted with snacks, beverages, kind hosts and more, we finally made our way to the Honeymoon suite that boasts a private balcony of the seaview, kitchen, deluxe bed, jet stream bath, and all sorts of little amenities.

We also explored the island treasures, a world heritage site in the form of St. John's Monastery and the surrounding Chora.
Sorry for the infrequent postings, it is the fact that too much is happening (and that about 75% of our readers are actually in the house with us), but things have slowed down recently and we are going to make it up to you!
