The final days

Sell everything in my room - check
I have packed boxes to ship home, gone to good will numerous times, and have given away all the objects that I have collected over 2.5 years in new york. And man o man did i collect a ton of stuff! But after accessing my valubles, realizing i didn't really have any other than momentos, the shedding of the excess seemed to be a bit easier. Now there is only 2 bags sitting in the corner of my room, looking lonely and ready to travel. How amazing that my life has been compressed into two bags! But, that is the point of this trip, easy, baggage free travel.

Stu moved in - check
Stu had to be out of his sublet on the 15th and moved in with me for the remainder of our time in NYC. As any one who has seen my apartment would know, it's pretty damn tiny. And, since my bed is so small and Stu is so big, us sleeping together has been a challenge. Sadly Stu has moved to a comfy travel mattress on my floor. It folds up during the day, and has turned from being "a back up just in case" to a "godsend" as we both can actually have a good nights sleep now. Full size beds are not meant for 5'8 and 6'5 couples. I am longing for a bigger bed to finally share with my love, one that we can both be comfortable and feel is ours. But for the next 9 days, it will have to do.

Stressed out - check
Don't have to explain this one i am sure. So much change, so fast, of course stress comes along with it.

Planning going away party - check
Last week we realized it was only a few days from our checking out date, and we better get everyone together for a bonding session before we leave. So we decided to be selfish and make everyone come to Brooklyn, which is obviously making the Manhattanites very uncomfortable.
Friday night is the party, at an amazing new age piano bar that Stu and i were introduced to, and fell in love with instantly. It embodies the ideal of Williamsburg. Relaxed, funky, fun, and a bit trendy mixed in, it's the exact venue we were looking for. It is going to be a blast, especially as we will be surrounded by friends that have made our experience in new york so full.

So here is to the last week in nyc, my dirty, grubby, crazy city that I am going to miss.
